Awards Reception

Celebrate the brilliance of Native artistry at the Cherokee Art Market Awards Reception — an evening dedicated to honoring the exceptional talent featured in this year’s show. Guests will enjoy an exclusive look at all award-winning works gathered in one inspiring gallery, each piece hand-selected by the panel of judges. Enjoy music from DJ Element, delicious hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and both indoor and outdoor spaces for mingling. Best of Show will be the only award presented live, allowing the rest of the night to be devoted to connection, conversation and the shared love of art. The evening will also include a moment to remember the gifted artists the community has lost this year and reflect on the lasting impact of their work.

Early Access Hour is an exclusive shopping opportunity that opens the doors one hour before the general public. This limited-capacity event offers the chance to explore the market at a relaxed pace, connect directly with artists and secure favorite pieces before they’re gone. A ticket also includes early entry to the Cherokee Art Market, access to the Bubbles & Bites Lounge for two hours with appetizers and drinks, a Cherokee Art Market T-shirt and a tote bag.

Dallin Maybee, a citizen of the Northern Arapaho Tribe of the Wind River Reservation, Wyoming, will highlight the tools and techniques that he uses in his practice of the evolving medium of beadwork. This demonstration will offer a look at his process of creating this art in contemporary times and how it can express cultural and tribal identity.

Cherokee Nation citizen Robin Stockton shares how daily journaling can sharpen focus, capture inspiration and enhance artistic skills. Participants will learn how writing down ideas in the moment can preserve concepts for future works, help evaluate whether an idea is worth developing into a larger piece or keep it as a personal exercise, and create a safe space for creative exploration.

Artist Jerry Brown of the Navajo Nation, Arizona, New Mexico & Utah, gives a live demonstration of painting a canvas –– explaining how he creates layers, texture and depth of color. Featured during the demo will be different types of work including abstract, landscapes and animals.

An Indigenous Exploration of Clay 3D Printing

– 3:00 PM
Artist and Santa Domingo Pueblo citizen Monica Silva Lovato shares her journey of working with traditionally harvested and processed clay used in a 3D printing process. Attendees will have the opportunity to see samples of 3D clay prints up close.

All artists who wish to participate in this year’s Cherokee Art Market must apply and go through the jury process. Submit your application by April 1, 2025 to be considered. Artists will be notified of their acceptance status via email beginning May 30, 2025.

Please review our rules & regulations for a full list of booth sizes and fees.

Yes, there will be a competition. An artist may enter up to two pieces into the competition. Please note that the more details you give about your piece, the better.

While there is no set limit to the number of pieces you may have for sale, there are important guidelines regarding what items may be sold at your booth. Please review our rules & regulations for more information.
